That said, Ron is passionate about Southern Africa and has travelled the region extensively. Having worked with clients from around the world, that have had greatly varied needs, he loves creating itineraries. From solo travellers to large groups Ron enjoys the nuts and bolts of travel planning. No matter the occasion he seeks to install something special and looks to inject that intangible sense of wonder, wherever possible.
Sales, Marketing and Reservations Debs, as she is affectionately known, is officially tasked with sales and marketing but spends a lot of time in the ‘reservations hot seat’ When it comes to the caring department, her friends and colleagues know her as a warrior woman. There is no skill that supersedes care, in the travel industry and Debs is always available to her clients. She is a superstar when it comes to looking after travellers (whilst they are on their trips), a natural extension of her relationship management skills. Armed with a wealth of experience, having been involved in the travel industry for 26 years, your travel dreams are in excellent hands, when Debs is involved.
East African Specialist Matt has a wealth of experience having worked with and for global brands like Saatchi & Saatchi to Emirates Airlines. He is not only an East African specialist but also owns an accommodation offering, in Zanzibar. 2020 and 2021 may have brought the world new challenges but it has also brought new solutions. Matt is not an employee or a DMC, to The Safari Guys but rather our East African travel partner
After nearly 30 years working as a chartered accountant, with the last 14 years as a director of PwC, Peta-Lynn Pope decided to make a lifestyle change. Herself and her husband, Chad, made the bold move of investing in the tourism sector, during the height of lockdowns, facing the world. Peta-Lynn & Chad, along with their son and daughter (Jared & Hailey) are seasoned travelers and were familiar with The Safari Guys, having utilized the team’s services in the past. The Pope family loves the bush and have enjoyed traveling through much of Southern Africa, as well as abroad. To pick a favorite destination is so very difficult because each part of our country is so different and unique. The family always tries to find something new whenever they travel. Peta-Lynn has taken up the role as an investor, whilst spearheading the company’s financial operations, bringing her experience to the business, not only in terms of navigating business unusual within the hospitality space, but channeling growth and expansion of our offerings internationally.
Nancy has worked in the travel industry for the better part of 10 years. Her gentle and calm approach, to life, crosses over into her work life too. Of Kenyan & Zimbabwean descent but living in South Africa, Nancy is what you might describe as a true Africa, multi national. Nancy’s calm demeanour is not to be mistaken, for weakness. Although always striving for harmony, Nancy sets about her work with a quiet determination. Tasked with securing current travel offers and rates, from suppliers, then ensuring they make their way onto The Safari Guys Res team members as well as to our websites, her role is an important one. Nancy has the ability to fulfil reservations role, when needed, which is an area of strength, for her. Most of all Nancy loves Africa and working in the travel industry
Caren Engelbrecht has had 30 years experience, in the travel industry and is described by her colleagues as a reservations Superstar! That experience included 10 years tour operating, 3 years in the airline space and 16 years as a handling agent (for tour operators). Caren prides herself on a powerful work ethic, high energy level and tenacity, the latter being an important quality in todays complex world of travel regulations. Caren not only has the skills & knowledge required to earn the title of a reservations superstar but perhaps more importantly, she has an ingredient money can’t buy … genuine care. Above all, Caren cares about her clients travel dreams being fulfilled
Eugene Kruger is the go-to guy for all the Safari Guys ideas thought out by the wandering officer. He has over 16 years experience in Graphic and Web Design and has walked the road alongside the team for the past 10 years bringing visual and marketing plans to life.
